The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro has a nice price compared with competitors, but a 15-inch 2-in-1 with a multimode hinge isn't as easy to grasp as smaller alternatives.

Bright touch screen. Built-in S Pen storage. IR Camera for Windows Hello. 14 hours of battery life.

No 4K screen option. Bulky in tablet mode. No Thunderbolt 3. Smaller SSD than rivals. Slippery keys.

Bottom Line: The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro has a nice price compared with competitors, but a 15-inch 2-in-1 with a multimode hinge isn't as easy to grasp as smaller alternatives.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro is feature-packed for its modest price

 

The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro packs in a ton of features, including a 360-degree hinge, stylus and graphics card.

A great set of features for a reasonable price. The included stylus fits into a handy custom slot on the body, and its basic graphics card can handle light gaming.

It's heavier than many other 15-inch laptops, the body can get hot and the power button is awkwardly placed. Battery life and audio are both underwhelming.

The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro has a few design quirks, but is packed with features for a surprisingly modest price.

Even with its design quirks, this big work notebook is impressive: It packs in a 4K touchscreen display, quad-core CPU, and discrete GPU for just $1,500.

Vivid 4K screen and touch screen ; Reasonably priced ; Relatively thin for its size

CPU and GPU performance lags against competitors ; USB-C port uses Thunderbolt 3 controller, but does not offer Thunderbolt 3 support ; Battery just not big enough to run all this hardware for that long
