LG 75SM9970PUA

 

LG's SM9970 LCD TV is one of the few 8K models available and offers excellent picture quality, but you're paying a lot of money for a resolution no movies or TV shows can actually be watched in yet.

Strong contrast and color. 8K resolution with excellent AI Picture mode upconversion.

Expensive. Fairly dull design with stock remote. No consumer 8K content is available yet.

Bottom Line: LG's SM9970 LCD TV is one of the few 8K models available and offers excellent picture quality, but you're paying a lot of money for a resolution no movies or TV shows can actually be watched in yet.

While LG's 2019 Nano Cell flagship screen wasn't as impressive as the rollable Signature Series OLED TV R and 88-inch 8K OLED, we're not writing it off yet.
