Sony Walkman NWZ-A818

Superb display with clear and crisp images, good quality earphones

Hold button in an awkward location

We need hardly add that the Sony Walkman NWZ-A818 is a player of rare beauty with quality Walkman-branded earphones adding to the appeal. Its black brushed metal is less shiny than its predecessors and we wish Sony had sorted out somewhere other than...

Sony Walkman NWZ-A818 digital media player

Sony managed to impress us with the video quality of the first video-enabled portable music player it launched almost six months ago. Now the NWZ-A810...

Sony Walkman NWZ-A815

A little while back we took a look at Sony's first video capable walkman, the Sony Walkman NW-A805 and aside from our standard complaints regarding So...

No SonicStage, great sound, good quality headphones included, nice design

No radio or voice recorder, no lossless formats supported

If you can handle having no voice recorder or radio and are dissatisfied with the sound quality of other portable media players, then the Sony NWZ-A815 is a great choice.

Sony Walkman NWZ-A815

Sony adds drag and drop to its video Walkman, is it enough to finally kill off the competition?

With the Walkman NWZ series, Sony has finally created the nano killer the NW series always should've been. Being able to drag and drop files to it makes managing your music a breeze, while the superior sound quality and bundled headphones round out...

Sony Sony NWZ-A818 Walkman

Sony's NWZ-A818 flash-based MP3 player holds up to 8GB of music and video with superb audio quality--without requiringany advanced adjustments. Built with style and function in mind, the NWZ-A818 competes directly with Apple's iPod Nano.

High quality headphones come bundled ; Small and incredibly sleek design

Proprietary connection for PC hookup ; No expandable memory slot

A smartly designed flash based MP3 player that performs well enough to give users a great alternative to Apple's iPod Nano.

Sony NWZ-A818 8GB, black

Here in the CNET offices, there's no doubt that the death of SonicStage will allow Sony's Walkmans to move a significant step up in the MP3 player market share competition. The company's new devices support AAC and protected WMA, offer excellent...

The Sony NWZ-A810 offers a slim design with a lovely, ample screen. It's also easy to use and comes with high-quality earphones. Audio quality is excellent, and there are plenty of sound enhancement options and two custom EQs. The player supports photo...

Even with the included extender, the Sony NWZ-A810's earphone cable is very short. The placement of the hold button on the back of the player is neither convenient nor ergonomic. There's no FM tuner, voice recorder, or memory expansion slot.

The Sony NWZ-A810 offers a fantastic display, a sleek design and interface, and a stellar battery life--plus, it's one of the few MP3 players that sound great right out of the box. Users looking for the whole package (sans radio) will be pleased.

Sony NWZ-A815 review

Sony has dumped SonicStage for its new flash player. Hurrah say we, but can the NWZ-A815 satisfy our demanding shell-likes?

Sony's killed its rubbish software and created a brilliant-sounding, great-looking flash player
