Not everyone wants a living-room computer, but the Acer Revo 100 is one of the better low-cost HTPCs we've seen thanks to a wisely chosen feature set, its attractive design, and a mostly well-conceived input device.

Low benchmark numbers. NASCAR-style stickers. External power brick. Lots of bloatware

For such a slim PC the Acer Revo RL100-UR20P is able to squeeze a Blu-ray player, a wireless trackpad/keyboard remote, and a slew of other features for an inexpensive, sub-$600 price.

The Revo 100 looks good and manages the home theatre PC concept about as well as anything we've seen. A pity, then, that it's so expensive for the power on offer.

Touchpad keyboard is a real attention grabber ; Blu-ray and digital TV capable ; Slim, living room-friendly design

Mediocre performance given the asking price ; Touchpad keyboard is a pain to use for many computing tasks

The Revo 100 does a fair job of home theatre PC delivery in a very attractive case, although we'd ditch the touchpad quickly for a real wireless mouse and keyboard if we were using it long term. The deal breaker, in our opinion, is the price. At AU$999...
