Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Lighter and thinner yet more powerful than most rivals, the world's first quad-core tablet sports a stunning screen, gorgeous design and comes with a keyboard dock.

Thinner and lighter than most, Gorgeous, super-bright IPS screen, Quad-core yet excellent battery life, Keyboard dock adds connectivity and battery, Full HD video plays smoothly

Dock’s keyboard inferior to original Transformer, Metal finish relatively smudge-prone and slippery, Top-heavy docked design requires care on lap, Poor speaker positioning, App selection still inferior to iPad, No 3G (yet)

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 32GB

Slim and smart, Android 4.0 is fast and clean, good video and audio, clever extras

Can’t match Apple’s wealth of apps, second best for AV performance

Asus has carved a niche here – and if the added functionality appeals, it’s a winner

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime review

What does a laptop in the post-PC era look like? Is it an ultrabook with familiar internals and software in a dramatically slimmed-down shell? Or is it possible to use a modern mobile OS like...

Great design, build, and size ; Bright, high quality SuperIPS+ screen ; Tablet can run for over nine hours ; Superb gaming performance

Poor app selection and quality ; Software isn’t completely optimized for the faster processor ; Browser performance can be sluggish

The laptop of the post-PC world needs the software to match it

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the best Honeycomb tablet available, but the OS lacks the tablet-optimized apps to compete with the iPad.

Blazing fast. Great gaming. Cool keyboard dock.

Some bugs. Honeycomb lacks both apps and a good app store.

The Android interface also doesn't have a quick way to easily flip between several windows. You can say the same about iOS, of course. But I have the Prime next to my Windows 7 netbook right now, and I'm missing the fluidity of being able to have two...

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime review

Asus' original Transformer was Stuff's Product of the Year 2011, and the new Prime is all that and more. With a quad-core Tegra 3 processor inside, it's the fastest tablet ever.

Review Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201 Tablet/MID

Quad core tablet. The new Asus tablet with a keyboard dock is one

Newest mobile quad core chip; Very good screen; Elegant and robust aluminum case; Latest Android 4.0.3; Extended options thanks to keyboard dock

GPS only works sporadically; No 3G/UMTS; Only one speaker

First, the much less expensive predecessor, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v as an attractive tablet with the last Tegra 250 chip. Of course, the latest version of the genre founder, the iPad 2. And the Asus Eee Pad Slider as...

Asus Transformer Prime TF201 Mobile Docking Station review

This keyboard dock adds 1.2 pounds and just 0.4 inch to the Transformer Prime. Unlike the original Transformer--which bulks up to the size of an average netbook with its dock--the Transformer Prime remains under an inch thick at only 0.75 inch with its...

The Transformer Prime's keyboard dock improves on that of the original Transformer by packing the same ports and extra battery life into an even slimmer and lighter package. Unfortunately, the keys remain cramped.

Asus Transformer Prime (TF201)

Super IPS+ screen is gorgeous ; Lovely design ; Tegra 3 performs very well ; Decent battery life

No SIM slot ; Panoramic photography isn't what it's cracked up to be ; Android still has a lot of work to do to become a good desktop experience ; Not everything is optimised for quad core ; The TF700T is coming

Asus' Transformer Prime combined with Ice Cream Sandwich is an excellent tablet. For now, this is the one to get — at least until the TF700T comes down the line.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime Review

Summary: The Transformer Prime is the best marriage of screen and keyboard we've seen in a tablet. The quad-core Tegra 3 processor gives it professional-level performance, and battery life is excellent too.

Superb screen, Great battery life, Comes with a keyboard dock that adds a second battery, Supports USB and SD card expansion via the keyboard dock

Not available without keyboard dock, Tends to topple over if you tap the screen when it's docked to the keyboard, Short of business software, No integrated mobile broadband option

There’s 32GB of built in storage and access to 8GB of Asus web storage. If we’re looking for a gripe about all this, then it has to be that there’s no 3G version. But if you are even remotely interested in writing text on an Android tablet, then the...
