Update: was DOA, but Sharp fixed it.

 

There was a very slight bend in the metal in the area (outside bottom left corner) which was hardly noticeable, sure didn't seem to be enough to damage the unit, but it was... because of one darn, little, pointy screw. lol A&E Factory Service was a...

Sharp A/C Pretty Soild

 

I bought two of these units because I had to have it installed thru our wall. Had to pay to have a couple of guys for the work. My thinking was if one unit dies, I can just throw the 2nd unit in the same spot. I think most todays AC units aren't built...

Sharp build quality is decent, but not like they were years back. Excellent EER @ 10.7 Remote is soild & easy to use. Cooling is very, very good. Uses the newer R-410A refrigerant that's more green then the older R-22

Even on the low setting the unit is a tad noisy compared to my older Panasonic's

Quiet and cool

 

Quality construction, cools quickly and quietly, nice remote, using in family room but quiet enough for bedroom. 3rd Sharp over the years, very happy with the brand

Install instructions had photos that reproduced very poorly. As a result it was difficult to figure out how to attach the side panels

I'm awed and feeling cool again...

 

This is such an improvement over the ac I got rid of which was nearly 10 years old. It's quiet and efficient, not bad to look at, has a remote and appears to be well built. I would easily recommend this unit. And as far as Newegg is concerned, I...

Does a great job cooling a room quickly without making a racket. Nice interface and a good remote. Energy Star rating and 10.7eer- not too shabby. Timer mode and Energy Saver- light enough to move in and out of a window when not needed and small enough...
