Big, bright 2.5-inch LCD ; Very sharp images

Big, bright LCD is easy to use even in direct sunlight, but some text exposures were dark and colors seemed cold.

The Mju 500 has some nice touches, and will suit newcomers to digital photography. But if Olympus wants to keep this range going, it will have to do better on picture quality and sort that LCD out.

Overall, I like a lot of things about the Stylus 500 -- I just wish the photos were better. If you want a smaller camera that doesn't mind getting a little wet, it's worth checking out.
