Usually, a big zoom means a big camera. It's only natural; the larger a lens, the larger the body you need in which to put the lens. That's why Samsung's L77 surprised us. This slim little camera sports a beefy 7x optical zoom that doesn't even pop out...

The most significant feature of the L77 has to be the large 7x optical zoom cunningly concealed in the thin frame. It's a feature that more cameras are having and Samsung are one of the select few daring to be the Avante Garde.

The 7.1 megapixel Samsung L77 is a sharp-looking, slim digital camera with a 7x optical zoom.

Very nice styling ; Comfortable to hold, for an ultra-compact camera ; 7x optical zoom ; Optical zoom is available during movie capture ; Quick performance

Average image quality ; Mediocre battery life ; Strange menu system (but you can get used to it)

While having a 7x optical zoom in such a slim and compact camera is definitely an awesome feature to have, the L77's image capturing capabilities are not good enough for me to recommend.  Now, that's not to say that there isn't a buyer for this camera...
