Easy to use, not the best routes

 

Despite the cons it is not a bad unit. I still use it and I bought it in May of 2015. I once compared this unit, my old TomTom, and Google navigation on my Galaxy S6. The TomTom and Google were pretty much the same while the Garmin gave a different...

Lifetime map updates (free), real time traffic and delays (free), large display, customized icons (the Black Pearl sails the streets for me), advanced lane guidance, and the voice does a pretty good job at pronouncing street names and destinations.

The routes it picks are not the best. I frequently have to compare what the Garmin says and what Google says on my phone. It usually doesn't tell me a delay in traffic fast enough for me to avoid it, but at least I know how long I'll sit on the...

Bad Retailer Experience

 

The same GPSs purchased elsewhere have been enjoyed by the people I gave them to as gifts.

First, the Newegg search results didn't make it obvious enough that I was ordering from a 3rd party seller. Second, Top Sales sent refurbished GPSs in generic Garmin packaging even though the listing gave no indication that the units would not be new...

Refurbished or new?

 

Well reviewed unit in consumer magazines. Had to return unit due to reasons stated below. Return process was easy.

Unit purchased was refurbished even though not advertised as such on website. Verified by calling Garmin and citing serial number that unit was refurbished. Unit being returned.

Difficult Supporting Software

 

As we all know Newwegg is ultra fast in shipping but this was sold and shipped by Throwback Deals so arrived after a full week. I was very excited to order this GPS, but I am now tired just trying to set it up. I need a drink.

Have had for only a day. Has to be good GPS according to reviews.

I spent almost half a day trying to connect to PC and update stuff. Garmin software (and there are a few that took me round and round) will not recognize the unit if connected thru the holder, the USB cable has to be connected directly to the device,...
