Unsure about energy consumption, have had this working for a couple of weeks, it's sitting in the unit, without the main doors on yet, but can't hear any running noises, cools extremely well, freezer has good size drawers, plenty of room in fridge with...

Doors were reasonably easy to change sides, but had to tilt unit at an angle to get to the freezer door hinge, not really a problem.
