Kenmore Elite 36" Updraft Range Hood with 3-Setting Halogen Lighting 5512

Do not buy a cooktop without seeing it in the store.  The trim on this and the grayish specks in the white make this a quite unattractive cooktop.  --unsure how well it cooks as they are still installing it.

This is a really nice range hood. I like the choice of 3 speeds & 3 different light brightness on it. Really looks nice with my new smooth glass cooktop. Nice design with my remodel in the kitchen.

My Kenmore Elite 36 in. Gas Cooktop performs well, but the upkeep is horrible.  Stains and scratches are hard to remove.  The heat got so hot that part of the "turn on knob" melted.

Relatively quiet, good air flow, like the 3-way lighting, decent looks. Got a good price on sale, delivered promptly (picked up at local store), straightforward DIY installation.

We are very pleased with this model (black) as it performs very well and is easy to clean. One of our knobs melted as well, so the cooktop is not perfect. Does anyone have a suggestion on a quality replacement knob?
