Review: LG Chocolate VX8550

After a somewhat lukewarm response to the original Chocolate, LG returns with an update. The successor is a better-looking piece of plastic (though decidedly still...

Handy sliding unlock button. Loud, clear speakerphone. Smart upgrades (like a relocated speakerphone key). V Cast music and video access

Chubby (0.7-inch). Three-hour talk time. BYO memory card and USB cable. It’s a fingerprint magnet

LG Chocolate VX8550

Verizon's music phone gets better by adding a scroll wheel.

Thinner and prettier than original Chocolate, with better navigation wheel and touch buttons.

USB cable sold separately. Video playback is jerky.

LG Chocolate VX8550

Nice wheel-based navigation, Dedicated speakerphone button

Interface can be kludgy

This minor revision of the popular LG Chocolate phone has plenty of multimedia options and a new mechanical scroll wheel.

LG Chocolate VX8550 review

The LG Chocolate VX8550, available in the US from Verizon for $250 - £125 - with a two-year contract, eschews a button-oriented navigational ring for a navigational wheel.

This LG Chocolate VX8550 may not be the best platform for handling multimedia or messaging. The lack of a keyboard makes texting difficult at best, and the interface for music playback lacks the finesse of those on competing phones such as the Nokia N95.

LG Chocolate VX8550 review: LG Chocolate VX8550

LG Chocolate VX8550

The LG VX8550 Chocolate has a much improved design over the original Chocolate, with a mechanical scroll wheel that has a trace motion light, a touch pad that vibrates, and an overall sleeker look. It has an impressive multimedia feature set that...

Even though we liked the vibrating feedback of the LG VX8550 Chocolate's touchpad, we still missed the feeling of tactile keys. You also have to get the Music Set, which costs more, if you want the microSD card and USB cable along with the phone.

The LG VX8550 Chocolate is definitely a big improvement over the original Chocolate, with a beautiful yet functional design plus a host of impressive features to boot.

LG VX8550

When the LG Chocolate first appeared on the scene, it was an exciting cell phone. While it had a lot going for it, to some it unfortunately fell short in a few areas. Most notably, the piece-de-resistance translucent keys and navi-key proved to be a...

The VX8550 is a definite upgrade from the original VX8500 Chocolate. If you liked the original, you will love this even more, but if you didn't like the Chocolate, you should give the new version a try. You will be pleasantly surprised..

LG Chocolate VX8550 - Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

LG's original Chocolate phones took the world by storm with its delicious colors, strong music features and innovative, trend-setting touch-sensitive controls. Though the GSM version of the Chocolate was available only through importers, we were glad...

Cool form with touch controls and LED lights. Easier to use than the first generation Chocolate. Has a good set of phone features and software tools. Generous amount of memory and a memory card slot that supports 4 gig cards. GPS and VZ navigator...

No headset included for hands-free dialing or music playback. Battery life isn’t stellar

series. The Chocolate with its strong support from Verizon still has a lot going for it: a fun touch control that’s all the rage these days, tight integration with V CAST content and attractive pricing. For the fun-loving crowd who don’t need constant...

LG Chocolate (VX8550) Review

When the LG Chocolate was launched in 2006, the stylish phone in the shape of a chocolate bar became the "It" phone of the year. The new version, the LG Chocolate VX8550 for Verizon, looks just as sweet and packs more functionality into its minimalist...

For style-conscious users who like to get their multimedia over their phone, the LG VX8550 has a lot to offer. The new version of the LG Chocolate improves on the popular phone's sleek design with richer functionality and navigation

LG Chocolate VX8550 Cell Phone Review

The LG Chocolate VX8550 is a music-oriented handset that provides a good set of features in a small, well-designed package. Available exclusively from Verizon Wireless for $79.99 with a two-year contract, the Chocolate VX8550 keeps the same small...
