Performance

 

Sony STR-DE695

One of the most compact receivers available; six 90-watt channels; A/B speaker switching; Dolby EX, DTS ES, and DTS 96/24 surround processing; SACD/DVD-Audio input; component-video switching; nifty remote.

So-so sound quality.

This Sony's trim dimensions and abundant features are appealing, but its average sound quality will put off some.

I was very happy with the performance of my STRDE695 until it died,as wired as that sounds.I dont know of other STRDE695's life spans but I got 6 years of service from mine.Maybe it was the compact size that was its undoing,I never placed the unit...

Great power and size for the price,very adjustable parmeters for all channels,great input versability,remote can control all sony equipment

no powered sub output,no active rear center channel,excessive turn on delay,runs quite hot even at low volume

BIG, POWERFUL AND DYNAMIC - SUPERB LOOKS & VALUE

 

If you see one buy one

Instantantly likable very clear sound - no muddiness in the bass mid or top end that seems to plague other manufacturers especially with music (I have tried quite a few). This Receiver is very close to a Sony Str DB1080 in sound!!

Good

 

Very nice unit with great sound output. Easy component video connection for 2 video untits. Heaps of Optical audio support. A good buy at AU$650.00

Easy to use. Good connection capacity. Great crystal clear sound. Very configurable.

Very hard to get setup help, as no ne seems to know what it's capable of, though they think they do. No 6.1 Dolby Speaker system available yet. Needs a powered [active] Surround Back speaker.
