Fin bildkvalitet och bra skärpa, men autofokusen är långsam, och man får avstå från bildstabilisering.

Skärpan är fin från full bländare, och den toppar omkring F8.0.

Mekaniskt och optiskt är objektivet utmärkt. Den största svagheten är långsam autofokus.

Versionerna till Canon och Sony är tätade vid fattningen men inte i övrigt. Sigma-versionen är inte tätad.
