Tested for our February 2008 feature "The Wide World of Monitors," the LG Electronics L196WTY-BF offers consistent graphics in a stand that swivels but doesn't lower. 

Bundled display settings software Wide swivel

No DVI cable included Tall profile with no height-adjustment

A few minor gripes aside, the LG L196WTY is an excellent monitor for business or home use--if you don't mind the tall profile and non-height-adjustable stand

The LG Electronics L196WTY-BF offers consistent graphics in a stand that swivels but doesn't lower. But it's not cheap for a 19in monitor.

A few minor gripes aside, the LG Electronics L196WTY-BF is an excellent monitor for business or home use - if you don't mind the tall profile and non-height-adjustable stand. But it's not cheap, and you may struggle to source on in the UK.

The tall LG Electronics L196WTY-BF is a 19in LCD monitor that delivers solid, consistent performance on many text and graphics tasks.

A few minor gripes aside, the LG Electronics L196WTY-BF is an excellent monitor for business or home use - if you don't mind the tall profile and non-height-adjustable stand. But it's not cheap, and you may struggle to source on in the UK.

Wide Swivel stand, Almost 360-degree swivel ; provide best viewing experience, Software - Bundled display settings, Very cheap for a 19? monitor, On screen display easy to navigate (adjust brightness/contrast/movie and text, etc), Clear Maximum...

Might be too tall for an individual, Unadjustable height stand, May be too big to get used to it if you switched from 15

If you do not mind the unadjustable height stand and 19€² inch monitor. LG Electronics L196WTY could be a good monitor for both business or home use, especially with the 360 degree swivel which gives you the best viewing experience

Great monitor when hooked up using DVI connection. However it comes with a VGA cord and I had to go buy a DVI cord to get good resolution

Does not ship with a DVI cord

Great Monitor

 

Hooked up to a Geforce 8800GT... games are great.

Simply one of the best if not THE best 19" out there

Stand is weak and no dvi cable.. but oh well no big deal. the monitor jus sits there anyways. im not scared it will break for no good reason

well i didn't get it from new egg but it was cheep where i got it. to think that i was using a 15in crt before this

there are to many to list

my vid card would not work with it at first but after messing with the program for the monitor got it to work

beautiful monitor. no dead pixels whatsoever... awesome picture and color. widescreen is great and im never goin back

didnt comw with DVI cable??? stupid. but i didnt buy the monitor off newegg

Let me just say I love this Monitor.It could have certainly gone the other way though.I ordered this with the impression a signature would have to be given to release the package. Not so! It was left on my doorstep in the middle of a snowstorm in 0...

Great images Fast response time compact

None if you buy from a place who makes sure the item is signed for and not left outside exposed.

Awsome Quality!!

 

A really top notch 19" lcd monitor if you are willing to fork over the money,otherwise go for hanns-g.

Bundled display settings software(not that great,but better than nothing) ; Wide swivel

DId not come with a DVI cable,which was shocking ; Tall profile with no height-adjustment
