OpenBSD 5.9 firewall

 

I've tried pfSense 2.3 and OpenBSD 5.9 on this, both run great. You can boot and run from USB, SD card, or install a 2.5" SATA drive. I ran pfSense for a few days from an SD card but just missed OpenBSD too much so I threw in a small SATA SSD and...

Excellent PFSense Box

 

I am running this with 8GB of RAM and a 120GB SSD. RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820191523 SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820016001 At time of purchase, it was ~$230 for an amazing PFSense box...

This is a great little PFSense box. It is currently installed at a small office with 6 workstations. OpenVPN and SNORT running and the CPU usage sits at about 3%.

The only con I had was what another reviewer pointed out - the BIOS needs to be set to legacy boot.

Awesome Little HTPC

 

I have this little PC sat at the side of my Tv as a HTPC, it runs Kodi with no issues, streams Netflix and A-mazon flawlessly, streams blu-ray movies from my NAS without a hiccup, if you pair it with an SSD it will be completely silent as this is...

None so far, wish Zotac would have included a remote with it like the Asrock Beebox.

Great pfSense Box

 

Haven't tried with other OSes but seems like it would work well.

Overkill I know but makes a great pfSense box for a home environment (even though the Intel 7260-based wireless card isn't supported I use another AP anyway).

Rubber feet on bottom that double as screw covers are not well made.

Not ready for mass production

 

Waiting for BIOS update! Maybe it will help!

Works with Windows 8 and 10, if you put there a ready to use HDD or SSD with Windows per-installed.

Not possible to install any Windows version from USB drive, the unit is not seeing the USB drive in BIOS under any settings. Does not work with Windows 7, despite it is confirmed in specs.
