Makes great toast and reminded me of the toast I made toast in front of the fire when I was a kid. The only drawback is that you can only use one side for reheating and defrosting. However the quality of the finished toast outweighs this drawback.

is a bit tinny. The lever takes a bit of pressure to make it stay down. The toasting is not even - always more on one side than the other. The noise when it pops is surprisingly loud. Would recommend for the sale price but not if it were full price.

I previously had this toaster for a number of years but when it went wrong, I purchased a different make which was very slow and did not toast properly. This toaster is quick and toasts evenly and also toasts crumpets as we like them as well.
