The Samsung Galaxy Book S feels like the start of a new laptop generation with a design so small and light that ‘ultrabook' now has a whole new meaning.
Incredibly light and small;Outstanding battery life;Lovely screen;LTE connectivity very handy
Performance only strong enough for basic tasks;Software compatibility issues; Not many ports

The Samsung Galaxy Book S is one of the best laptops around for on-the-go working
Ekspertanmeldelse af : David Nield (t3.com)
The Samsung Galaxy Book S will have a lot of appeal for a lot of users
Excellent battery life ; Really lightweight ; 4G LTE connectivity
Low-powered processor ; Trackpad isn't great ; Some apps not optimised

Samsung's Galaxy Book S laptop uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chip, trading middling performance for a number of features that make on-the-go computing a snap.
Incredibly light, incredibly thin ; Superb 16-hour battery life ; LTE connectivity is designed in out of the box
Snapdragon 8cx processor still requires too many sacrifices ; Keyboard is mediocre
I prefer laptop keyboards with fairly substantial travel, something the Galaxy Book S lacks. Each key is firm and resilient, however, and wide enough to provide a comfortable landing space. The three levels of backlighting (plus off), aren’t...

Does the Intel version improve on the Qualcomm model when it comes to functionality? Yes, but battery life takes a hit. Here's what to expect.
Full-fat app access (unlike Qualcomm model) ; Ultra-lightweight and slim design ; Subtle keyboard backlighting looks great ; Balanced asking price
Battery not a patch on the Qualcomm model ; No 4G/LTE either ; MicroSD cover quality is terrible ; Limited ports - no full-size USB-A
A lightweight looker that - despite the battery life being about 25 per cent less than the Qualcomm equivalent - is still a decent daily driver, with full access to Windows 10 Home and all that apps that you'll need.

With Qualcomm hardware this Samsung offers superb battery life and 4G connectivity. But the ARM architecture means app limitations, so be cautious.
Super long-lasting battery life ; Ultra-lightweight and slim design ; 4G LTE SIM slot for on-the-go use ; Subtle keyboard backlighting
Qualcomm hardware means app limitations - not everything from Windows Store is functional here ; Screen a little reflective ; Strong competiton in same price bracket
If a long-lasting machine for desk and on-the-go use is exactly what you want, this Samsung is a dream. However, only consider it if you need to do the basics - word processing, Office 365, browsing, videos, and such like - as the Qualcomm hardware...

Notebookcheck reviews the Samsung Galaxy Book S with Intel's new Lakefield hybrid processor.
sturdy and lightweight chassis;good battery runtime;Outdoor+ mode is much brighter;great speakers;decent everyday performance;full app compatibility
only USB-C;keyboard illumination is too dark;no integrated LTE (German SKU);hybrid processor requires adjusted apps for optimal performance

Notebookcheck reviews the Samsung Galaxy Book S with the Snapdragon ARM processor and integrated LTE. How does the light subnotebook perform everyday?
stable and lightweight chassis;very long battery runtime;integrated LTE;great speakers;decent everyday performance
not compatible with 64-bit applications;only USB-C;keyboard illumination is way too dark
Ekspertanmeldelse af : Fergus Halliday (pcworld.idg.com.au)
Incredible battery life ; Striking form-factor
Software incompatibility issues ; So-so keyboard
The Samsung Galaxy Book S feels like a slice of the future with strings attached.

The Galaxy Book S is officially the longest lasting laptop you can buy, but Windows on Snapdragon isn't quite flawless yet
