Harman/Kardon SB 16

The ; has excellent sound quality for a sound bar. Its exterior design is also a cut above budget sound bars, and its two digital audio inputs should be enough for basic home theaters.

The subwoofer's giant footprint may be too much for some buyers. The SB 16 also relies on your TV's remote to adjust volume, which may result in annoying onscreen messages on some HDTVs. And $600 for a sound bar is more than many are willing to spend.

The Harman Kardon SB 16 features a premium price tag and some remote control quirks, but its excellent sound quality and exterior design make it worth the extra cash.

We were kinda excited about the harman/kardon SB 16 Active Speaker Soundbar because it's from guys know speakers. It didn't mean that this one had to sound great, but it was a great indicator.

The Harman Kardon SB 16 seems to have it all from looks to features. But it also seems to perform really well sonically. The wireless sub is a plus and three inputs a definite bonus to consumers.

Clean and sophisticated design that is not obtrusive to a home, simple installation, wireless from soundbar to subwoofer, warm bass and crisps highs provide a balanced listening experience.

Positioning of the sound bar and subwoofer is key – or you won’t get the full effect of the SB 16 experience, lack of remote, not particularly NYC apartment friendly because of the subwoofer’s size.
