Canon's EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM lens covers an incredible zoom range and works with full-frame cameras, but its price and just-ok optics make it a tough sell.

10.7x zoom range. Full-frame compatibility. Reasonably sharp through most of its range. Includes lens hood and tripod collar.

Expensive. Noticeable distortion. Soft edges. Push-pull zoom design. Some color fringing.

I love this lens, about as much as anyone can love an inanimate object. I know this isn't a very objective way of beginning a review, but I don't think my praise is unfounded. I hope to be able to provide a few sample images soon in the way of support...

You'll pay more for this lens ($325 at B&H) than you will for similar third-party offerings or Canon's lesser-quality consumer zooms like the 28-80 or 35-80, but in my opinion, the difference in price is worth it

Using the lens for wildlife photography and compared with other canon lenses I have the result are poor when photographing moving images using A1 Servo with 9\/10 images not being sharp despite high shutter speeds and AF locked on the subject.
