Nikon SB R1C1

Wireless i-TTL operation; compact size; comes with plenty of accessories, including mounting rings for lenses, stands for the flash units, filter holders, and more.

Kit available only with two flash heads; flashes and trigger powered by CR123A batteries; slightly clunky case.

The Nikon SB R1C1 is one of the most versatile macro lighting solutions we have seen to date. When paired with a Nikon SLR and macro lens, it can have you creating incredible macro photos in no time.

A pair of SB-R200 Speedlights and an SU-800 Wireless Commander make up the main part of the Nikon unit .

Highly adaptable fully featured kit, wireless, good light

Lights set back a little too much, CR123A batteries

The unit is easy to set up with Nikon's TTL, manual and High Speed flash modes. Light is even and accurate, with excellent exposure. In all, the box contains everything you need for macro flash work.

I was a little unsure of spending so much on a flash system and wondered if I could justify the expense. However, when it arrived, it was like Christmas all over again. So much kit in a sturdy carry case. Nikon have excelled themselves. Do go on...
