I actually have the older model (790DF) of this but the only difference is mine is all black instead of the silver ring on the face.

I bought this monitor to use in one of my earliest PC build-ups and was totally stunned by the sharpness of picture. And to this day, 5 PC's later, I still look at this thing in amazement. I've never had any trouble cranking the resolution on this like...

None. I'm just now (3 years after buying) wanting a larger widescreen monitor and will be ordering a 22" LCD in the next week or so. Even still, I'll be passing this to my parents because it is still flawless.

Great quality but only 1024x768 resolution

 

Owned it for a long time, but recently upgraded to the 19" CTX EX951FB-1, which is absolutely stunning at 1600x1200 resolution! And it's almost the same price as this one.

Great picture quality at 1024x768 resolution with nice AGARAS screen coating and fine dot pitch. Nice colors and text.

Can't do anything more than 1024x786 without distorting the image.

SAMSUNG 793DF-T/T

 

Unless you're really cramped for space or eaten up with techno envy, it's hard to imagine why someone would pay more for a flat panel display.

Sharp pictures with brilliant, accurate colors. Shipment was speedy. This is the best 17" monitor I've ever seen of any type.

It took a while to tweak the screen settings and optimize performance.

Poor pixel structure

 

Newegg was fast on delivery as always.

The monitor looks cool and the side buttons are a nice change

The pixel layout on this monitor is bad, it hurts the eyes even at 85 Hertz. I really noticed it when I put it side by side to a ViewSonic LCD. If you look closly (which I sometimes do when using Photoshop) you can see the honeycomb grid structure of...

EXELLENT

 

This monitor is perfect for gamers. I play cs 1.6 alot at 640x480 @120hz and it has nor problem handleing it. I had a 19" CRT Dell but when it broke I decided to go to a 17" and it was a good choice. This has better picture quality than the dell on....

base stand could be a little higher
